The name of the project <<Līdzinieki>> / <<Peers>> emphasizes the principles of participation and equality. The use of graphic signs in the title encodes the dynamics of our time – rapid movement, accelerated review, comparisons. Within the project, a participatory art exhibition and an interactive performance will be realized, where the audience will become participants. <> will be an art activism workshop for young people. A participatory art event will be created under the guidance of professional artists, curators, choreographers and directors. Participatory art is characterized by the fact that visitors become co-creators, the objects in the exhibition can be added to and commented on, the arrangement of the room offers suggestions for cooperative games, discussions and role-plays. Peers are accomplices. Actively or passively, in the minority or in the majority – we all participate in society. The main task of the exhibition=performance is to ask questions about participation and its forms today.

The association I-DEJAS MĀJA implements the project with the support of the European Economic Area financial instrument 2014-2021 period program “Local development, poverty alleviation and cultural cooperation” in the open competition “Support for the creation of professional art and cultural products for children and young people”.
