The Association I-DANCE HOUSE applied for, and received a grant of 126,550 euro to implement project Art Activism: Take Part Take Care (EEZ 2021/1/13) as part of the Support for the Creation of Professional Art and Cultural Products for Children and Youth project under the auspices of the European Economic Area Financial Instrument program entitled Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Cultural Cooperation for the period 2014-2021.

I-DEJAS MĀJA will undertake an art activism project to develop participatory performance <<Līdzinieki>> in collaboration with the K: 13 SCENEKUNST theatre company from Norway

In 2022, the association I-DEJAS MĀJA, in collaboration with the Norwegian Theatre K:13 SCENEKUNST from Bergen will create an arts project for young people. The K:13 theatre company will arrive in Riga for the first meeting and creative workshop from the 18th to the 19th of February. On the 18th of February, at 19:00 the company will present the project idea and the K: 13 interactive show Romeo and Juliet at the Gertrude Street Theatre. After the performance, the audience will be invited to a meeting with the project team. Curator Sanita Duka will present the creative idea and the Norwegian artistic team – Jorunn Sofie Lullau, Steinar Thorsen, Charlotte Faaberg-Johansen – will share their experiences with the interactive theatre form.

The main event: participatory performance for youn audience <<Līdzinieki>>

āIn the fall of 2022, I-DEJAS MĀJA realized the main event of the “Art activism: Take Part take Care” project – participatory art event for young people <> at the House of Trade Unions. Live rehearsals began on September 27, and from October 12 to 19, the house hosted ten interactive performances and curator’s tours.

Participatory art events for young people <> earned the warm response of young people. Publicist Santa Remere wrote a review together with five young people. Three students of the Riga Art and Media Technical School filmed and created a video story. The show was created in consultation with a focus group of the target audience.

I-DEJAS MĀJA IMPLEMENTED AN ART PROJECT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN 2022 >> “Art activism: Peers – PARTICIPATORY ART EXHIBITION & INTERACTIVE PERFORMANCE” >> The project was financed within the European Economic Area (EEA) grant program with the EEA financial instrument for the period 2014-2021 the support obtained in the open competition “Support for the creation of professional art and cultural products for children and young people” of the “Local development, poverty alleviation and cultural cooperation” program.
